2019 starts with a bang!

Things are taking shape with the next initiatives in the Town Centre Revamp underway. Today we’ve put our second parklet in place outside Charlie’s Lane, beside Paper Plus on Queen Street.

Our team has also started putting together the bits and pieces that will make up “Play on Park” – a space along one side of Park Street that include giant games, a market area, basketball hoops and skateable furniture. Check out the plan for Park Street here.

The Park Street initiative involves the South side of Park street closed to traffic. Cars wanting to access businesses via Cricket Street are encouraged to use the entrances off Dixon Street.

This is all part of the first phase of our Town Centre project – the temporary initiatives that allow us to learn what works and what doesn’t. All of these learnings will feed into the design of any permanent changes made in the second phase of the Town Centre Revamp.

Keep an eye out for progress and check back here for a “What’s On” list of community activities for everyone to get involved in. We’d also love your feedback on the temporary spaces – just fill out the survey here.
